Dr. Michelle Beck
My research interests focus on how variation in ecological factors influences the physiology and behavior of vertebrates, especially songbirds. I am particularly interested in plumage coloration in male and female songbirds and physiological mechanisms that link coloration to reproductive behaviors such as parental care and aggression. Second, I am interested in how anthropogenic environmental change can influence avian physiology, behavior, and ultimately fitness.
